The war between Russia and Ukraine has sparked thousands of statements, opinions and reactions, and of course, Elon Musk’s couldn’t miss out.
The South African tycoon, true to his style, addressed Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin to challenge the Russian president to a hand-to-hand fight, claiming that he would defeat him.
“I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to a (melee) fight. The prize is Ukraine,” the Tesla owner wrote on Twitter.
Musk further noted that this was no joke, saying he was “completely serious.”
Musk, branded a “little devil” and “weak”
“Do you accept this fight?” he posted, tagging the official Kremlin account.
He got no response from the Russian government, but he did get a response from the head of the Russian space agency, Dmitry Rogozin.
The Russian diplomat responded to the tycoon with an excerpt from the short story ‘The Story of the Priest and His Worker Balda’ by A.S. Pushkin, calling him a “little devil” and “weak”.
“You, little devil, you are still young, compete with me, weakling; it would only be a waste of time. Overtake my brother first,” the Russian politician tweeted.
“I see you’re a tough negotiator! Ok, you can have 10% more money from the event payout,” Musk responded.
The South African accompanied this text with a photograph showing Putin riding a bear and the second of Elon Musk with a flamethrower saying ‘Pick your fighter’.
Threats to Musk: “Don’t measure your strength against Putin’s”
The Russian diplomat was not the only one to enter the controversy to come out in favor of Vladimir Putin.
Ramzan Kadyrov, Russia’s ally and head of the Chechen Republic, contacted Musk via Telegram to make him see that he had no chance against Putin in a hand-to-hand fight and Musk leaked the conversation.
“A word of advice: don’t measure your strength against Putin’s, you’re in two different leagues,” Kadyrov told Musk.
“How do you see this? You’re in the red corner, an entrepreneur and Twitter user; and Putin, in the blue, a politician and global strategist who inspires awe in the West and the U.S. You’re a much weaker opponent.”
Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic, also used irony in a post, trying to effeminate Musk.
“He will need to pump those muscles to change from sweet ‘Elona’ to the brutal Elon he needs to be. I propose training at one of several centers in the Chechen Republic,” he wrote.
“Thank you for the offer, but such excellent training would only give me that much more leverage,” Musk responded.
“If you are afraid to fight, I will agree to use only my left hand, and that I am not left-handed. Elona.”
