Victim’s name released following Scioto County fatal accident

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – Ohio State Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim in a two-car fatal accident Thursday morning.

Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Linda L Murphy, 67 of Wheelersburg, Ohio.

According to troopers, Murphy was traveling northbound on State Route 823, partially in the right lane and partially on the berm when another vehicle traveling north hit Murphy’s vehicle, forcing it to rotate and go off the right side of the road.

The other vehicle then veered to the left and hit the concrete divider wall.

Murphy sustained life-threating injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The other driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelt and their car’s airbags deployed.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Ohio Dept. Transportation, Scioto County Sheriff Dept, Portsmouth Gateway Group, Jefferson Township VFD, Minford VFD, and Minford Squad 3

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A person has died following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning, according to the Portsmouth post of Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol says the accident happened just before 8 a.m. on State Route 823 near the Lucasville-Minford Road off ramp.

Officials say emergency crews are working to notify next of kin.
